About No Trend
From 1982-1988, Ashton, Maryland’s No Trend created some uniquely anti-establishment music, incorporating elements of punk, post-punk, noise rock, and later on gothic rock as well as jazz rock into a sound (or perhaps cacophony) that was unmistakably their own. Jeff Mentges, one of the band’s founders, seemingly despised the clique that hardcore had become. Jack Anderson (bass) admits that they “did not play hardcore music, but did play hardcore shows.
