About Nishida Sachiko
Nishida Sachiko (西田佐知子) of Osaka is the second in this series of Enka singers. Familiarly known as Sa'chan her career started in 1956 and by 1967 she had sold over 10 million copies of mainly singles, so one of the big players. She appeared 10 times on the NHK red/white singing competition, where enka singers are pit against eachother singing the same song, probably winning some of them. All of her releases are now in mono, as though many aritsts of the age re-recorded their hits in stereo after the time
