
About Nilüfer
Nilüfer (full name Nilüfer Yumlu) is a well-known Turkish pop singer. She was born on 31 May 1955 in Cihangir, Istanbul. At 15, she attended the singing competition Altın Ses Şarkı Yarışması, organized by the newspaper Hafta Sonu. She won the competition and became famous. Together with the band Nazar, she represented Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest 1978, where she shared 18th place with Seija Simola from Finland. Since 1997 she has been Turkey's National Ambassador to UNICEF.
