The New Lepers Ensemble is a soundscape culture project based in Adelaide, Australia and Japan. Field recordings are used and changed to create new combinations of ideas and environments. Unlike many studio recordings in which silent surroundings are essential, the New Lepers Ensemble uses incidental noises captured by field recorder and the 'noise character' of recordings to make music. Along with this, a collection of instruments also contribute to the structure of the songs.
