Native Korean Rock is the side project of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' frontwoman, Karen O. She premiered the act at Union Pool in New York City on July 21, 2008. The music is much slower, lo-fi, and more romantic songs compared to what she sings with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, similar to that of her leaked demo. Karen would be playing two shows comprised of a body of love songs written over the last two years. These songs were to be played live with a "motley" of NYC natives, under the name Native Korean Rock.
