About Montreux
Montreux was the name of an American fusion band, specializing in the blend of jazz and bluegrass, with jam elements. The band was active from approximately 1982 until 1990, the name coming from the jazz festival in Switzerland of the same name. Started in the early 1980s by a gathering of friends who wanted to "create music we never heard before," Montreux formed as the Acoustic-Celtic-Brazilian-Jazz fusion powerhouse of the Windham Hill music label.
