The artist mntY, Justin Mysza, hails from the metro Detroit area. As a founding member of Detroit's techno-industrial act HAL and the electronica cooperative the Nineteen Point Five Collective, mntY has helped to shape the contemporary digital underground in that city, and the midwest in general. Known for his hooky licks and groovy rhythms (he plays a mean bass guitar as well), his songs are both distinctive and ephemeral. He is quite prolific, releasing the majority of his music for free via the internet.
