About Michel de Villers
Michel de Villers (born 13 July 1926 in Villeneuve sur Lot) is a French Jazz Baritone and Alt saxophonist playing Swing, later Bebop. Autodidactic. He played with Django Reinhardt in a recording session on 14 April 1947, recording "Peche a la Mouche“ and "Minor Blues“. De Villers also played with American misicians staying in Paris: Kenny Clarke, Jonah Jones and Lucky Thompson. German tour in 1947 with Don Byas and Bill Coleman. In 1950 he changed to Baritone sax.
