About Mehri Maftun
Mehri Maftun (also spelled Miri Maftun, Dari: ميرمفتون) was born in 1962, Ishkoshim, Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan. He is a famous Tajik singer and composer and has visited Tajikistan several times. Maftun is a folk singer, and writes his own songs and melodies. He is good at performing with Central Asian folk instruments (such as dutor, dumbura, etc.) and sings only in Persian (called Dari in Afghanistan). He sings his songs in various ceremonies, from television programs to celebrations and campaigns.
