About Mch Band

MCH Band Mikoláš Chadima, the band’s leader, singer and saxophone player, is arguably the most interesting personality on the contemporary Czech music scene; his music is “blackness ten times black”, to quote Hermann Melville; the fact that many of MCH Band lyrics are written in German (by a Czech-German poet Ivan Wernisch) only strengthens the effect. An ideal listening for late afternoons when there’s nothing else to do than get depressed and think about Central European melancholy and Prague grotesque.
