About Matze
Matze is Cristian Stanciu, a pioneer in romanian electronic music. Matze means "gutz" (a jumbled up equivalent) The matze project was born at radio Nova 22 in 1992, with Cristian Stanciu and Lucian Stan (DJ Vasile). They later formed NSK. Matze's first song, made on a Sunday night in September 1992 is called "Respira adanc" ("Breathe deeply"). Devices that were used: two Revox tape recorders, a simple organ with Casio presets, two pick-ups, one mixer, beat only two samples and a microphone.
