Born in Tokyo in 1944. In 1964, while studying Spanish at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies he took off to Mexico. For two years he traveled throughout the United States and Europe. He started singing in the late 1960s, and made his debut with Jyan and Aoi Omokage in 1969. In 1971, he released the album, Kaikisen, which reached gold status but did not follow the folk music trend of the times, deciding to develop his own musical actvities.
