Winner of the First Prize (ex-equo whit Kirill Rodin (USSR)at the 8th edition of the Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow (1986), Mario Brunello is the guest of major European, American and Japanese venues, and appears with leading orchestras and such conductors as Semyon Bychkov, Sylvain Cambreling, Myung-Whun Chung, Daniele Gatti, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Valeri Gergiev, Carlo Maria Giulini, Eliahu Inbal, Marek Janowski. His repertoire ranges from Bach to contemporary composers and he is also a highly active chamber musician.
