Portuguese jazz, gospel and blues singer Maria Helena Viana (usually known as Maria Viana) was born in Lisbon on the 17th of March of 1958. She is mainly a live performer and to date(January/2007) has released only three solo records - all recorded "live in studio", i.e. as a result of extended jam sessions. Discography: -1988 (released 1992) Just Friends - Entre Amigos (jazz standards) -1998 Espírito do Tempo (jazz, blues) -2003 Terra Prometida / Promised Land (jazz, blues, gospel)
