Margie Adam is one of the pioneers of the Women's Music movement. She was born in Lompoc, California, USA, in 1947. Ms. Adam began playing the piano at a very early age. In 1973, while attending the Sacramento Women's Music Festival, she performed during the open mic session and so began her career as a professional musician and composer. Soon, she was involved in the Women's Music movement, a school of music which uses the art form as a means of political and social as well as artistic expression.
