About Mainspring
Mainspring was an emo/hardcore band from Detroit, active from 1993/4 to 1996. Members: The drummer, Matt, was 15 when they recorded their first 7”. He stole few copies of Playboy from the studio lobby and used them to stuff his kick drum. His current “band” is Blue Vein. Based out of NYC, he and one of the guys from Thoughts of Ionesco play corporate events for Wall Street types. The bass player, Dusty, went on to perform in the Whiskey Tenor.
