About Luis Perdomo

Luis Perdomo (Caracas, 1971) is a Venezuelan pianist and composer based in New York City since 1993. He has recorded and performed with musicians such as Ravi Coltrane, Miguel Zenón, among others, playing a style between modern straight ahead and latin jazz. Perdomo has released several albums as a leader, most notably "Universal Mind" featuring double-bassist Drew Gress and drummer Jack DeJohnette. Influenced by his father's musical taste, Perdomo took piano lessons for several years with his jazz mentor Gerry Weil at the age of 10
