About Ludwig August Lebrun
Ludwig August Lebrun (1752 - 1790), oboist and composer. His father, possibly Belgian, was oboist at the Mannheim court from at least 1747. By 1764 the twelve-year-old Ludwig August, who had been studying oboe with his father, was already playing with the court orchestra on occasion; he became a full member in 1767. After Ludwig's marriage to the soprano Franziska Danzi, the couple toured extensively: Milan, Paris, London, Vienna, Prague, Naples, and Berlin.
