About Lucy Brown
Lucy Brown was a funk/metal band from Washington, D. C., active in the late '80s until the death of lead singer Gene Hawkins, of a heroin overdose in 1994 which resulted in the breakup of the band. The original lineup consisted of Scott Llewellyn as lead vocalist and bass guitarist, Luis Peraza Jr. on lead guitar and Chris Neuberg on drums. This initial lineup released an LP on DC area label T. O. G. records in 1988, but with limited distribution it was not a commercial success.
