About Lily Afshar
Lily Afshar is an Iranian-born, U.S.-based classical guitarist. Born in Tehran, she began learning the guitar when she was ten years old. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music degree in guitar performance from The Boston Conservatory and the New England Conservatory of Music, and gained a doctorate in guitar performance at Florida State University. She has studied at the Banff Centre for Fine Arts and the Aspen Music Festival.
