About Lia Dorana
Lia Dorana (The Hague, July 18 1918, official name: Beppy van Werven) is a Dutch cabaret singer and actress. She was discovered by Wim Sonneveld and was part of his company from 1943 on. From 1951 onwards she was part of several cabaret programs Wim Ibo made for the VARA broadcasting organisation. She won nationwide fame as Liesbeth Doorsnee in the radio program 'De Familie Doorsnee', penned by Annie M.G. Schmidt. Here she sang her most well-known songs: Geachte cliënten and Ali Cyaankali.
