About Les Filles de Sainte Colombe
Mary Springfels and Wendy Gillespie founded Les Filles de Sainte-Colombe, a small viol ensemble specializing in string ensemble music of the early baroque period. The name, which means "Sainte-Colombe's daughters," commemorates the 17th-century French musician and composer Monsieur de Sainte-Colombe, who delighted audiences by performing concerts with his daughters, Brigide and Françoise. Les Filles de Sainte-Colombe have performed in the USA and Europe, often accompanied by other noted early music performers.
