About Las MC
The great Las MC is one of Dakar's most beloved and revered MCs. Las grew up in the Suburb of Parcels next to Dakar. With his thundering voice he was aptly nicknamed "Mr. L'Elephnat" because of the similarity of his voice to the African elephant. His deep baritone and sheer on stage energy was unlike any other MC in Senegal at that time. Before his death, Las recorded a number of hits including "African Don?t Wanna Understand", an emotional plea for a return to traditional African values released on African Underground Vol.
