Kong is an experimental instrumental band from the Netherlands, formed in 1988 as a side project by Amsterdam-based musicians Dirk DeVries (guitar, samples, programming), Aldo Sprenger (guitar), Mark Drillich (bass, programming), and Rob Smits (drums). Their music combines elements of heavy metal, progressive rock, electronica, and avant-garde styles, heavily incorporating sampling and sound effects. The band’s compositions are mostly instrumental and designed for quadraphonic performance
