The Klazz Brothers, best known for their work with the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra, joined forces with Cuban jazz musicians Alexis Herrera Estevez and Elio Rodriguez Luis to create one of 2004's most unexpected releases under the rather simplistic rubric of Cuba Percussion. But there is nothing simple about this pairing. The group fuses Cuban sounds like salsa and mambo with the sawhorses of western classical music: Mozart, Brahms and Beethoven. - Sarah Bardeen
