About Kirk Kadish
Kirk is from Detroit, Michigan. He grew up hearing traditional spirituals and early rock & roll, and was introduced to jazz greats like Dave Brubeck, Henry Mancini, and Quincy Jones throughout his early musical training. He earned a bachelors degree in classical music theory and piano from the University of Michigan in 1977. He was soon after touring the US with The Murphy Family, an Australian band that launched the career of country artist, Jamie O'Neal.
