About King Sporty
King Sporty, born Noel Williams, was one of the original Jamaican street DJ's who rose to the role of studio sidemen at Sir Coxsone's Studio One. His most recognizable contribution in this role was inspiring the coda of Bob Marley's Buffalo Soldier, which incidentally is remarkably similar to the Banana Splits theme song. He produced several notable Reggae tracks and "versions". Footnote added 1/4/2010 This is incorrect, Bob added the "coda" to the King's original great song.
