About Karol Szymanowski
Karol Maciej Szymanowski (3 October 1882 – 29 March 1937) was a Polish composer, pianist, and writer associated with the modernist Young Poland movement, which was active in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Szymanowski’s early compositions reflect the influence of the late Romantic German tradition as well as the early works of Alexander Scriabin. Examples of this early style include the piano work "Étude, Op. 4 No. 3" and his first two symphonies.
