About Karmello Brooks
Karmello started as a background singer for Aretha Franklin. She made a few singles half sixties which can be labeled as Northern Soul. Her most famous song.. “Tell Me, Baby” was released in 1966 on Milestone Records. It was the B-side of an equally obscure tune titled “You’re Breaking My Heart.” Neither the A or the B side made any impact at all, maybe due to the fact Milestone records was more aiming at the Jazz market. With the revival of Northern Soul in the UK, this b-side became popular and appeared on some collector items.
