There are many groups or performers recording under the name "Jugalbandi", which translates from Hindi as "music for two players" or simply "duet". 1) Famous Jugalbandis include Pt. Ravi Shankar and Ustad Alla Rakha, Pt. Shivkumar Sharma and his son Rahul Sharma, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and Pt. Nikhil Bhanerjee, Ustad Zakir Hussain and Ustad Sultan Khan, and many others. 2) In Buenos Aires, Argentina the Sargam school of Indian Music also features a Jugalbandi ensemble, comprised of a rotating array of members.
