Juan de Herrera y Chumacero (Santa Fe de Bogotá c.1665 - ibid. March 18, 1738) was a Colombian Baroque composer. He was born in Bogotá around 1665. Educated with Dominicans or Jesuits, his first important position is in the Primate Cathedral of Colombia as a chapel master, replacing José Cascante in 1702. He was also, probably, a music teacher in the convent of Santa Inés, also in the Colombian capital. He remained in the position of Master of Chapel until his death in 1738.
