Currently residing in Dickson, TN, Williams was a child prodigy, beginning as a banjo player at age 8. He gained national recognition in the US when he appeared on the 1993 IBMA Awards show in the “Bluegrass Youth All-Stars” band with Chris Thile, Cody Kilby and Michael Cleveland.
