Portuguese keyboard player and composer José Cid is mostly known in progressive rock circles for his 1978 concept album 10.000 Anos Depois Entre Vénus e Marte. It is a spacey symphonic rock trip into outer space, dominated by Mellotron, string synth, and other synthesizers, with supporting use of guitars, bass, and drums. Shortly after that he changed course to a pop approach in music, up until the present moment. Oddly enough, few of the people of his country (Portugal) know Cid by his greatest deeds in progressive rock history.
