About Jon Newby
Started in the mid 70's singing and playing guitar in a band called "The Spires" playing gigs in and around the sleepy market town of Louth in Lincolnshire UK as well as a one off gig at the world famous "Marquee Club" in London's Wardour Street. Had a recording deal in the early 80's with my band still life80s. About 6 weeks worth of Radio 1 airplay for our 1st single, a full band arrangement of 'Away From This Town', and a short tour supporting Culture Club as well as a great number of other gigs didn't result in stardom.
