Eight Living Legs played in the Auckland alternative scene from 1981 - 1983. They were a band who impressed many that saw them perform in those years, including musician Mark Webster who describes them as "...engaging, consummate musicians, tight as all hell, professional yet with a quirky, stroppy humour that came across live...Eight Living Legs was a band that should have made it..." The band's only release was back in 1983 where they shared vinyl space with another Auckland band Flak.
