About Johnny Rodriguez
Johnny Rodriguez (born Juan Raoul Davis Rodriguez on 10 December 1951; died 9 May 2025) was an American Tejano and Texas country music singer remembered for infusing his music with Latin sounds, including singing verses of songs in Spanish. He was the first charting Latin American country music singer Rodriguez got his break after being discovered by Bobby Bare and parlayed that into a gig playing in Tom T. Hall's backing band. By the early 1970s he had moved on from being Hall's "secretary" of the road
