Johann Nesenus (born around 1550 in Bergen; died 1604 in Göttingen) was a Norwegian composer who worked in Germany. Nesenius worked as a cantor in Celle from 1595 to 1597 and from 1598 in Göttingen. From him are the madrigals Oh, where my heart and God the Lord spoke received. The former Liebgärtlein collection, printed in Mühlhausen in 1598, has not been preserved. Johann Nesenus and Caspar Ecchienus are the only well-known Norwegian composers from the 16th century. century.
