Johann Georg Zechner born April 9, 1716 in Gleisdorf, Styria; died June 7, 1778 in Stein an der Donau , Lower Austria) was an Austrian organist and composer . Zechner left his homeland early on to go to Lower Austria, which was musically important at the time. Here, mainly in Vienna , he received his first musical training. In 1736 Zechner came to Göttweig , where he worked as an organist until 1743. He then became organist in Krems and from 1746 to 1753 he was Regens chori at the parish church there.
