João Cordeiro da Silva (Elvas, c. 1735 - Lisbon, after 1808) was a Portuguese composer and organist. His first biographical information is dated 21 November 1756, the day on which he was admitted to the Irmandade de Santa Cecília, the association of Lisbon musicians. In 1763 he was already organist and composer of the Real Capela da Ajuda and starting from the following year he began to receive an annual remuneration of 240,000 royals for his services performed at the royal theaters.
