About Jim Beard
Jim Beard (born James Arthur Beard in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 26 August 1960; died 2 March 2024) was an America jazz pianist, contemporary instrumental composer, arranger and record producer remembered for his collaborations with artists including Wayne Shorter, John McLaughlin, Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Mike Stern, Dennis Chambers and Bob Berg, amongst others. He was a touring member of Steely Dan from 2008 until his death in 2024 , with his final performance being in Phoenix, Arizona, on 20 January 2024.
