Jason Steel is a singer and picker of stringed instruments — chiefly guitar, banjo, and lap steel. Originally from Yorkshire, he has lived in London for over twenty years. A former member of folk collective The Owl Service, his work blends Appalachian and ragtime picking with the strange old worlds of traditional folk and the lingering ghosts of 1920s Tin Pan Alley — somewhere between Bert Jansch, John Fahey, and Cliff “Ukulele Ike” Edwards.
