
About Janet Russell
Janet Russell (born in Buckhaven, Fife, on 11 January 1958) is a Scottish folk singer and guitarist (and aunt of musician Elsa Jean McTaggart). As well as solo recordings, she recorded as Janet Russell & Christine Kydd (in the 1980s and 90s) and as a member of Sisters Unlimited. Russell began her career singing in the folk clubs of Edinburgh and went on to support a number of major artists at the Edinburgh Folk and Fringe Festivals from 1980-1983.
