About Jan Fabrycy

Jan Fabrycy was a Polish composer who lived from approx. 1615 to approx. 1655. He composed in the traditional a cappella style which was at his time mainly used for settings of the ordinarium missae still (while at that same time other composers already wrote vocal and instrumental concerti and the like). One example of his works is the parody mass based on the polyphonic motet "In te Domine speravi" (In you, Lord, I set my hope) by Waclaw z Szamotul.
