James Wyness is a composer and sound artist living in Southern Scotland. A native of Aberdeen, he studied French at Aberdeen University. Outside of specific research interests in acousmatic music, his current areas of interest are in the practice and aesthetics of sound for moving image, ethnography, archive and documentary and in the establishment of a working critical language. He is currently influenced by unorthodox theories of film sound. His works as a composer and sound artist have been performed and presented in concerts and galleries
