About Ideas of the Opposite

Formed in Montgomery, Alabama in the summer of 2010, Ideas of the Opposite is a progressive metal band with influences ranging from fusion to experimental/avant-garde death metal to post-rock and shoegaze. Their band name was taken from a recurring phrase in Thomas Pynchon's, Gravity's Rainbow. Released in October, Evolva delves into the band's progressive influences. The first track, "Transmogrification," takes the listener on a dystopian journey through the desperation of modern man
