About Ian Oberst
Ian Oberst (born in Renton, Washington, 1984) is a native of Oregon. Coming from a background of concert and jazz choir, Ian began writing and recording his own music in 2005. His debut album, Picking Up the Pieces was released in April, 2006. Ian's style is heavily influenced by bands such as Relient K, Anberlin, Death Cab for Cutie, and Switchfoot, though his personal style leans more towards acoustic, with many of his songs featuring piano/acoustic guitar harmonies.
