About Hurtin' Buckaroos
In 1993, producer Joe Ferry started an experimental rock group that he called The Hurtin' Buckaroos. The band recorded its now legendary debut cassette entitled "3 Stories" that first year and played a number of shows to appreciative and somewhat stunned audiences. In 1995, Shanachie A&R Director Charlie Dahan (now Ferry's business partner) invited the band to record tracks for an album he was compiling, "Skandalous: I Gotcha Covered Vol 2". The only catch was that the group had to record Ska, not avant garde rock.
