
About Hermeto Pascoal
Hermeto Pascoal ( born in Lagoa da Canoa, Alagoas, Brazil on 22 June 1936; died 13 September 2025) was a Brazilian jazz composer and multi-instrumentalist remembered for his orchestration and improvisation, as well as for being a record producer and contributor to many Brazilian and international albums. From an early age, Pascoal was playing sanfona, meaning button accordion. At age eight, he started with the flute. Pascoal was a self-taught child prodigy.
