About Herbert Joos
Herbert Joos (* 21. March 1940 in Karlsruhe; † 7. December 2019 in Baden-Baden was a German jazz trumpeter, flugelhornist and graphic artist. With his finely pastel sound patterns, the musician also belonged, after Martin Kunzler, to the top group of European jazz composers. Joos, who had learned the trumpet autodidactically and then with a private teacher, studied double bass from 1958 before turning to the flugelhorn, the baritone horn, the mellophone and the alphorn.
