About Hege Rimestad
Hege Rimestad is the fiddler from Sámi singer Mari Boine's band. Her debut disc, "White Arrow", features many of the other band members fusing the strong influences of Norwegian traditional music with the tunes of the Shetland Islands, Indian and modal scales, electric instrumentation, and contemporary improvisation techniques. Her playing is ecstatic, provoking comparisons to Paganini and Hendrix in the Norwegian press. (description taken from noside.com)
